Memphis Depay to Barcelona could pave the way for two Manchester United transfers
According to the Express, the transfer of Memphis Depay to Barcelona could open the door for Manchester United to sign two French international stars.
The Catalonians are set to sign not just Depay but also Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero. Should Lionel Messi stay, they could be looking at a new look frontline.
This calls into doubt the futures of both Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann. Both players have been on United’s radar in the recent past and it remains to be seen if they will be on the move this summer. (h/t Express)
Despite turning 33 soon, Aguero is likely to play a starring role in Catalonia, with Depay and Messi operating either side of him.
United have followed Griezmann since his time at Atletico Madrid but he ultimately moved to the Nou Camp. According to the report, the Red Devils could make a straight cash offer, if Barcelona is willing to accept £70m.
United are also keen on a right-winger and could bring in Ousmane Dembele to fill that void. While Jadon Sancho remains our top target, Dembele could be considered an alternative.
With his current deal expiring in 12 months, Barcelona seems certain to sell Dembele this summer if he rejects their contract offer. As of yet, negotiations between both parties have gotten nowhere. (h/t Express)
United could sign the Frenchman in the region of £45m. Arsenal too are keen but their lack of European football next season all but rules them out of the race.

Of the two, Dembele will make for a long term solution to our woes on the wing. The Frenchman appears to have put his injury troubles behind him and was promising for Barcelona last season.
While Griezmann has had his moments, he appears to have lost his magic touch and is already 30. We will be better off investing that money in younger prospects.
Whether United will sign either player remains to be seen.
