Transfer News: Manchester United get boost in Jules Kounde pursuit

According to transfer news from Metro, Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Jules Kounde. The Sevilla defender has claimed that he might be moving clubs in the summer to fulfil his ambitions.

Kounde is an extremely promising player who appears to have a bright future ahead of him. He was a part of the Sevilla side that knocked United out of the Europa League last season.

The defender has already represented France at the youth level in the Under-19 and Under-21 stages. He has also been included in France’s Euros squad for the summer.

The French youngster has been in excellent form for Sevilla and is a regular for Julian Lopetegui’s side. He has made 49 appearances for them this season, scoring four goals and assisting one. (h/t Transfermarkt)

However, it appears that his future at the Spanish club is uncertain. The defender recently spoke about his future, hinting at a possible move away from the club.

‘Regarding my future, it’s certain that I will perhaps have to change clubs this summer. But nothing has been finalised yet. I have not decided anything. My goal is to play for a big club, to try to always progress and to win trophies. It’s true that I might have to move but that’s not relevant today.’

It is clear that United will have to stump up a premium fee if they are to secure a premium centre-back. Sevilla are looking for a fee somewhere around £60m. With Kounde basically opening the door for a transfer, United cannot afford to pass up on the chance.
