Transfer News: Manchester United could finally be able to land Ben White

According to transfer news from MEN, Manchester United could finally get a chance to sign Ben White. The Brighton defender could be let go as chairman Tony Bloom spoke about the club’s losses due to the pandemic.

One of the Premier League’s best defenders, the Seagulls star has impressed in his first full season at the Amex. White spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Leeds United, where he helped the Yorkshire outfit win promotion to the top-flight.

While he is far from the complete package, the 23-year-old has shown good acumen and understanding of the game. Moreover, in the right environment, he could blossom into a top-class centre-back.

With the pandemic still going on clubs have posted losses in their revenue. However, lower and mid-table clubs have been hit harder as expected. Brighton chairman Tony Bloom spoke about the same and that could be an indication of being open to a sale of Ben White.

“This season and the previous season have been really tough financially. We have lost over £50m purely because of Covid over the two seasons. That money is never coming back. So, we have to be as prudent as we can in the coming seasons and try and be as competitive as we can.

It has been claimed that a figure of somewhere around £35m could be enough to push Brighton towards a sale. The youngster has been a regular under Brighton boss Graham Potter at the Amex this season.

His performances have also caught the attention of England boss Gareth Southgate. Given the losses posted by Brighton, it’s not entirely out of the equation that White can be sold to get some cash.
