Arsenal closing in on Manchester United target Yves Bissouma
According to The Daily Star, Arsenal are confident of signing Manchester United target Yves Bissouma in the summer transfer window.
The Brighton midfielder has come into his own this season and is one of the Premier League’s best in his position. The 24-year-old has been a bright spark in what has largely been a disappointing season for the Seagulls.
Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are keen to bring in a midfielder to partner Thomas Partey and have earmarked Bissouma as the player. The midfielder too had earlier claimed his affinity for the Gunners over other teams in the fray.
This is not good news for United, who have been keeping tabs on the Brighton star’s progress.
The Gunners look set to make their move and are confident of landing their man for £30m in the summer. Competition for the 24-year-old is high, with the likes of Everton, West Ham, and Tottenham Hotspur all in the fray.
While Arteta is an admirer of the midfielder, Arsenal will still go ahead with their plans of signing him regardless of whether the Spaniard remains in charge next season.
The midfielder has three more years to go on his current deal. This gives Brighton enough leeway when it comes to potential negotiations. Having signed him for just £15m in 2018, the Seagulls now stand to double their investment in three years time.

Bissouma has been one of the silver linings for Graham Potter’s side this season as they continue to stumble in the lower half of the table. Although United have a large number of midfielders in their midst, adding Bissouma to the fray will offer us more strength in depth.
Unfortunately, we now have to make up for the lost initiative and it remains to be seen if we can beat Arsenal to his signature.
