Manchester United transfer target Yves Bissouma ‘hints’ at Brighton exit
According to Football.london, Manchester United have received a boost in their efforts to sign Yves Bissouma in the summer transfer window.
The Brighton midfielder has come into his own this season and is one of the Premier League’s best in his position. The 24-year-old has been a bright spark in what has largely been a disappointing season for the Seagulls.
Bissouma’s performances have not gone unnoticed. The likes of United, Arsenal and Liverpool are all keeping tabs on him.
Brighton are currently seven points clear of the relegation zone with five games to go. Being demoted to the second tier would almost certainly see Bissouma leave the club.
“We’ll try and stay up, and God willing, we’ll see how things go next season.”
The player for his part is currently committed to Brighton’s cause for the remainder of the season. He has admitted that a decision regarding his future would be made in the summer.
“I don’t have much to say about that [transfer speculation] because I’m at Brighton for the moment.”
A fight on our hands?
The defensive midfielder joined Brighton and Hove Albion in 2018 from Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille. He initially struggled to make an impact but has looked a different beast since June.
Brighton boss Graham Potter is keen to ensure the midfielder continues to develop at Brighton. This flies in the face of the player’s agent, who revealed the names of the six clubs that are supposedly interested in the Malian. (h/t Daily Express)
The midfielder has three more years to go on his current deal. This gives Brighton enough leeway when it comes to potential negotiations.

In our opinion, the article’s claim that the player sees his future elsewhere is pretty thin. Given that the player is not a native English speaker, it is entirely possible that his words have been taken out of context.
Bissouma’s stock is certainly on the rise and he might move in the summer. But for now, let’s not get our hopes up.
