Manchester United manager Solskjaer given time frame to finish Paul Pogba contract negotiations
According to The Mirror, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been given a time frame within which to negotiate the contract for Paul Pogba.
The 28-year-old is set to enter the final year of his deal soon. He has so far failed to commit his future to the club and has been linked to both Juventus and Real Madrid. However, neither side are in a financial position to finance the transfer.
United are keen to avoid a lengthy transfer saga this summer. They have thus tasked Solskjaer with obtaining clarity from Pogba on his decision, at the earliest.
The Frenchman has been a pivotal force for us since the turn of the year. He played a key role in our title challenge as United briefly went top earlier this season.
Unfortunately, his injury coincided with a series of disappointing performances that have seen us play second fiddle to Manchester City.
The player for his part recently admitted that he is happy at the club. Given his performances this season, it would be in our best interests to keep him.
The negotiations for Pogba can also have far-reaching consequences elsewhere.
Bruno Fernandes has built up an excellent partnership with Pogba and will wait to see what happens with the Frenchman before committing to a new deal himself.

While Pogba’s recent comments will cheer up some, it will matter for little unless his contract situation is resolved. The Frenchman has often shown on his day that he is a truly world-class player.
A powerhouse of a midfielder, he played a key role in France’s 2018 FIFA World Cup triumph.
