Alex Telles makes up his mind to leave Manchester United
According to CalcioMercato (h/t The Express), Alex Telles has made up his mind to leave Manchester United at the end of the season.
The Brazilian international joined the club on deadline day last summer. While he has impressed, Luke Shaw’s resurgence has seen him take a supporting role to the Englishman.
With just seven Premier League appearances to his name, Telles is a frustrated man who is keen to seek his fortune elsewhere. Given that he is in the prime of his career, one cannot begrudge his decision.
The 28-year-old is an excellent player in his own right. Also an adept taker of set pieces, he has much to offer if given the opportunity.
Italian giants Juventus are interested in Telles and are open to a swap deal in the summer. They are willing to offer French midfielder Adrien Rabiot in exchange despite him being held in high regard by Andrea Pirlo.
According to the report, United’s stand on the transfer remains unknown. Telles has shown himself to be an excellent backup and the club may be hard-pressed to find someone of similar stature.
If he does leave, Telles will be one of the many United players to have moved to the Serie A in recent windows.
Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Ashley Young have all joined Inter Milan in recent years. Andreas Pereira is currently on loan at Lazio while Diogo Dalot is in a similar position at AC Milan.
