Manchester United look set to see out their Europa League campaign

According to Spanish publication Marca, Manchester United appear to be set to see out their Europa League campaign for the current season.

The club’s participation in the competition was in doubt owing to their commitment to the European Super League. With five out of the eight semi-finalists of the Champions League and the Europa League involved with the ESL, it presented a tricky competition for UEFA.

It would now appear that these clubs will get to see out their season, not rendering their hard work pointless.

UEFA are unhappy with the formation of the European Super League

United are just three matches away from securing the Europa League title. The Red Devils are on a four-year trophyless run and the competition represents our best chance to end it this season.

Having defeated the likes of AC Milan, Real Sociedad and Granada, we now face AS Roma in the last four stage. The game will see us come up against both Chris Smalling and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, both of them now at Roma.

The other semi-final will see Arsenal take on Unai Emery’s Villarreal. For now, the prospect of an all-English final remains a real possibility.

UEFA have also threatened to ban players involved with the Super League from taking part in the European Championships. How all this works out remains to be seen.
