According to Football Insider, Aston Villa are now keeping tabs on Manchester United star Jesse Lingard.

The 28-year-old joined West Ham United on loan last January. He has since enjoyed great success, turning into the lynchpin of the Hammers attack.

With nine goals and four assists in just 10 games, the Englishman is tearing it up and silencing his detractors. His form has also seen him return to the England fold ahead of this summer’s European Championships.

Villa have a very high opinion of the English international and believe he would be an excellent fit at Villa Park. Lingard is a versatile attacker who can play anywhere along the frontline.

Dean Smith’s side are keen to bring in two wide forwards this summer. Bringing them in would enhance their attack centred around the impressive Ollie Watkins.

Red-letter day!

With just one year left on his United deal, the Red Devils have a decision to make this summer. According to the Daily Mail, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not averse to welcoming the player back ahead of next season.

According to football journalist Pedro Almeida, via Hammers News (h/t The Mirror), United will demand £21.5m for the player’s services.

Lingard’s stock has never been higher than it is today. The Red Devils will do well to ensure they get top dollar for a player who looked to be going anywhere at the beginning of the year.
