Manchester United fans not in favour of the club’s participation in the European Super League
It is fair to say that Manchester United fans are not on board the club’s decision to take part in the European Super League.
According to The Daily Star, a number of them gathered outside Old Trafford to protest against the same. Prominent among the protestors is a homemade banner saying “created by the poor, stolen by the rich”.
The United Supporters Trust has also deemed the club’s decision unacceptable and that it’s against the face of everything that Manchester United as an institution stand for.
“These proposals are completely unacceptable and will shock Manchester United fans, as well as those of many other clubs.”
The protest is not just limited to United fans. The footballing fraternity as a whole can come out in defiance against the will of the 12 clubs involved in the creation of the Super League.
Banners were also unveiled outside the Emirates Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and even Anfield. Liverpool players were also subject to protests at Elland Road after the Merseysiders became the first team to take the field following Sunday’s announcement.
A joint statement has also been released by the Arsenal Supporters Trust, Chelsea Supporters Trust, Spirit of Shankly, Manchester City Official Supporters Group & 1894 Group MCFC, Manchester United Supporters Trust and Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust, vowing to fight the plans to the end.
United players also appear to be against the proposals, prompting Ed Woodward to address them through a Zoom call on Monday morning. His efforts, however, appear to have done little, with the players far from convinced regarding his actions.

Football without fans is nothing. The club has thrived before the Glazers and will do so after them too. The Americans have gotten away with a lot at Old Trafford. Whether they have now dug themselves a pit too deep to climb out of remains to be seen.
There is little doubt that we are at war, both externally and internally.
