Manchester United News: Giovanni Galli thinks Amad Diallo can win Balon d’Or in the future

According to news from Daily Star, Giovanni Galli has tipped Manchester United starlet Amad Diallo to win the Ballon d’Or. The former AC Milan keeper feels that Diallo has the potential to emulate the likes of Lionel Messi and George Best and win the coveted prize before he turns 23.

The 18-year-old joined United amidst much hype in January. He was signed from Atalanta. The deal was agreed in October last year but he only linked up with United in January. Straightaway, he was slotted into the U-23 side and was allowed to acclimate to the surroundings.

He impressed for the Under-23s, earning a call-up to the senior side last month. Handed his debut against Real Sociedad in the first leg, Diallo showed good skill in the few minutes handed to him.

However, he did not have to wait long for his first goal and within a few weeks, he was called up against AC Milan in the first leg. His instinctive run and flicked header looped over Donnarumma to give Manchester United a vital goal.

Galli, who was instrumental in Diallo joining Atalanta in 2015, feels that the 18-year old can win the Ballon d’Or if he keeps working on his strengths.

“Amad is unique. But he must make himself stronger. At the same time, he must make sure he does not lose his speed, which is a quality that distinguishes him from others. In short, I think he has all the qualities to be a candidate for the Ballon d’Or in

the next five years.
