Borussia Dortmund slap €180m price tag on Manchester United target Erling Haaland
According to ESPN, Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund have slapped a price tag of €180m on star striker Erling Haaland amid transfer interest from Manchester United.
Just at the age of 20, Haaland has the world at his feet and is in huge demand from a host of top clubs all across Europe. The likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea all hold interest in the Norwegian interest.
Manchester United’s interest in Haaland needs no introduction. The club had tried to sign him in the January transfer window last year only for him to choose Dortmund instead.
Since then, he has gone on to bang in 49 goals for the German giants, with Manchester United making him a priority target now. And understandably so, considering that we are lacking a genuine goalscorer who can guarantee 20+ goals season after season.
Anthony Martial has been poor once again after a promising last season, continuing the trend of his entire spell at Manchester United. With Edinson Cavani in the final phase of his career and Mason Greenwood in the nascent stages, a proven goalscorer is a must this summer.
Haaland, to that end, would be the ideal signing for Manchester United. However, Dortmund have now slapped a mammoth €180m price tag on the 20-year-old.

Dortmund, last summer, proved that they are prepared to dig their heels in over the valuation of the players. Given the current financial climes that valuation could very well put Haaland out of reach for Manchester United as well as other interested clubs.
