Manchester United may have made €50m approach for Gabriel Veron
According to Paco Belmonte of Radio Telegrama on Twitter, one of Manchester United or Manchester City have made a €50m approach to snare away Palmeiras starlet Gabriel Veron.
Veron, 18, is a product of the Palmeiras youth setup. A versatile attacker, he made his first-team debut for the Brazilian outfit in November 2019. Since then, he has racked up 32 senior appearances, producing a handy return of 11 goals and 5 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Veron was one of Brazil’s best players as they went on to lift the U17 FIFA World Cup back in 2019. Ever since he has been on the radars of top clubs across Europe. And now, it may be so that the young winger could be on the move when the summer transfer window opens for business in a few months.
As per journalist Belmonte, Palmeiras have received a €50m offer for the teenager. But, there is a lack of clarity over the identity of the suitors with him claiming it to be either Manchester United or Manchester City, with his sources continuing to investigate the matter further.
An alternate report from UOL partly corroborates Belmonte’s claims. It states that one of the two Manchester clubs have signalled an intention of signing Veron in the summer.
However, as per the second report, the transfer fee is somewhere between €25m and €30m but Palmeiras are holding out for €50m.
