Transfer News: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer convincing Erling Haaland to join Manchester United
According to transfer news from Daily Mail, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to persuade Erling Haaland to join Manchester United. The Borussia Dortmund star is likely to leave the club given they are looking to miss out on Champions League football next season.
Within two seasons, Haaland has become a sensation and one of the most coveted strikers in Europe. A whole host of clubs are after the Norwegian and he could finally make the move next season. However, Solskjaer has special ties with the player and is using those to convince Haaland to join United.
The Norwegian duo worked together at Molde and Solskjaer is said to be calling the player every day and keeping contact to convince the player to switch to Manchester United.
Erling Haaland is a name that has done the rounds for us given we tried to sign him from RB Salzburg in January 2020. He decided to join Borussia Dortmund in the end and the 20-year old has been ridiculously prolific since joining the German club over a year ago.
However, one sticking point would be the fact that his agent is Mino Raiola. The ‘super agent’ is a much-maligned figure at Old Trafford given the history with regards to Paul Pogba. He was responsible for his exit in 2012, and then his return in 2016.
