Manchester United fans react as Jesse Lingard scores again for West Ham
Jesse Lingard has gone from being the forgotten one at Manchester United to the chosen one at West Ham United.
The 28-year-old joined the Hammers on loan until the end of the season last January. He has taken the opportunity by the scruff of the neck and is playing a major role in West Ham’s surprise top-four push.
The forward was once again on the scoresheet as the Hammers defeated Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United 2-0.
It was Lingard’s fourth goal in just six appearances for the Londoners. He also has two assists to boot and averages a goal contribution a game for David Moyes side. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Lingard’s performance against Leeds was by no means a vintage one. He struggled at points but ensured he still came away with a goal. He originally missed his spot-kick but was at hand to drive home the rebound.
At 28, he is in the prime of his career and has shown he has what it takes to compete at the top level.
We take a look at how fans reacted to his performance on Twitter.
