Manchester United remain interested in Jadon Sancho
According to German publication Sports Bild (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United continue to be interested in Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho heading into the summer window.
Borussia Monchengladbach manager Marco Rose is set to take over as Dortmund boss next summer. He supports the club’s idea to strengthen the defence and the wide areas.
Their search for a new wide man could be their preparation for life without the English wonderkid. The 20-year-old has scored 10 goals and 15 assists in just 29 appearances so far this season. (h/t Transfermarkt)
It would seem ludicrous to suggest that Sancho is having an off-season despite making 25 goal contributions in 29 games. But given the numbers he put up last season, expectations were bound to be high.
United were desperate to land the winger last summer. However, our interest came to nothing and his asking price proved to be too steep for our liking.
A new year brings with it new possibilities and Dortmund are now ready to lower their demands for the player. This should boost our efforts to land him in the upcoming summer if we choose to.
United’s attack has scored a number of goals but has proven itself to be too predictable at times. Adding Sancho’s pace and guile to the frontline will give us more options going into next summer.
It may have come a year late but at just 20, Sancho has a number of years to write his name into the United folklore.
