Gary Lineker left in awe of Rashford as striker impresses vs Newcastle
Former England international Gary Lineker was rather impressed with Marcus Rashford after his display against Newcastle. The pundit tweeted out to Rashford that a nutmeg before a goal is always satisfying.
The Manchester United star opened the scoring for his side against Newcastle. With the game looking rather lifeless for most patches, Rashford decided to take it on himself to provide the moment of magic.
Receiving the ball on the left, Rashford nutmegged Emil Krafth once near the byline to get ahead. While the Swiss defender rushed back to recover well, Rashford cut inside sharply to give himself some room.
He then dispatched a sizzling shot that went through Krafth’s legs and beat Karl Darlow at his near post.
The goal gave Manchester United the lead in the first half, only for Allan Saint-Maximin to equalise before half-time. The Red Devils turned up the heat in the second half with Daniel James firing a second and Bruno Fernandes dispatching a penalty to make it 3-1.
