Marcus Rashford ties with David Beckham in Manchester United all-time goalscorers list
Marcus Rashford enjoyed a memorable night out as the 23-year-old scored and assisted in our 3-1 win over Newcastle United at Old Trafford yesterday.
The Englishman opened the scoring in the 30th minute after he beat Karl Darlow at the near post. The Magpies equalized soon after skipper Harry Maguire failed to clear his lines.
Rashford set up Daniel James to restore United’s lead in the second half before winning the penalty that Bruno Fernandes put away. It was a night to remember for the Englishman in more ways than one.
Rashford’s opener was his 85th goal for United, a tally that takes him alongside Red Devils legend David Beckham in the club’s all-time scorers list. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The 23-year-old reached the milestone in just 253 games whereas Beckham did so in 394 appearances.
Rashford took to Twitter after the game to reveal his pride at reaching another milestone. Not every player can leave his mark at a club such as United but Rashford appears to be among the select few.
Rashford is currently 13th (joint) in United’s all-time scorers’ list and currently trails Mark Hughes by nine goals. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who occupies the sixth spot, is still some way off, with 127 goals. (h/t Transfermarkt)
United’s historic list is led by Wayne Rooney, who has an incredible 253 strikes to his name. Just 23, Rashford still has the best years of his career ahead of him. It remains to be seen where exactly he will end up once he hangs up his boots at United. (h/t Transfermarkt)

With 18 strikes, the 23-year-old is United’s second-highest scorer this season. He currently trails Bruno Fernandes by four goals. (h/t BBC)
While Rashford has achieved a lot at a personal level, his trophy collection at United pales in comparison to the likes of Beckham and co. Hopefully, he will go on to rectify that as well in the coming seasons.
