Manchester United plan to loan out Daniel James to a Premier League club next season

According to Manchester Evening News (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United winger Daniel James could be heading out on loan next season. The Wales youngster has fallen to the fringes this season and has found game time hard to come by despite United playing so many games.

James starred recently in the Europa League game against Real Sociedad with an assist for Bruno Fernandes and a goal for himself. It was only his eighth start of this season with another 4 substitute appearances. He has managed to score four times already, matching his tally for last season (h/t Transfermarkt).

However, the club are believed to have plans for sending the 23-year-old out on loan next season to a Premier League rival. The reasoning behind that is the emergence of Amad Diallo who arrived at the club in January. He is expected to play a part in the side next season which could see James’ game time reduce even further.

There has been interest from rivals Leeds United in past transfer windows. Other Premier League sides Brighton and Burnley are also said to be in the mix to take the player on loan for the 2021-22 season.

Wales boss and Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has also spoken about Dan James’ frustrations at not getting enough games. However, he believes that Solskjaer and the club need to keep as many players as they have, given the huge amount of games they play this season.
