Amad Diallo could make his full debut for Manchester United at home against Real Sociedad

According to the Evening Standard, Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted at what lies ahead for Amad Diallo in the coming days.

The 18-year-old made his first-team debut for the club last night against Real Sociedad in the Europa League in Turin. With the team 4-0 up, he could be set for a greater role in the return leg.

The tie is all but settled giving Solskjaer the freedom to mix things up in the return leg. He has hinted that Diallo could be in line to make his full debut at the Theatre of Dreams.

“He’s getting closer and closer to his minutes.”

The Red Devils return to Premier League action this weekend against Newcastle United at home. Solskjaer has revealed that a decision regarding Diallo’s involvement will be taken after that game.

It would be fair to assume that he will not be involved against the Magpies. For now, he looks set to return to action with the Under-23s.

“We will make a decision after Newcastle. Couple of games in the reserves. Amad is getting closer. We will see how much game time we will get.”

Diallo has a lot of hype surrounding his arrival

The 18-year-old showed glimpses of his potential against Sociedad last night. Diallo has a lot of hype to live up to and still has some way to go in his development.

United welcome Sociedad to Old Trafford for the return leg on 25 February. Given Solskjaer’s record in the competition, it remains to be seen if Diallo will be the lone debutant on the night.
