Manchester United may have another chance at completing Jude Bellingham transfer in the summer

According to German outlet WAZ, via Sport Witness (h/t Birmingham Live), Borussia Dortmund could sanction the sale of Jude Bellingham if they had to recoup losses due to Covid-19, giving Manchester United a chance.

United missed out on signing the English midfielder last year. The 17-year-old chose to join Signal Iduna Park after being impressed by the progress made by English players such as Jadon Sancho.

Sancho himself is another player that the Red Devils are interested in signing. And it is believed that he and Bellingham are two out of the 8 players that Dortmund could sell to ease losses due to the pandemic.

According to the report, this could be the second chance United need to potentially go back in the market for the former Birmingham City midfielder.

Bellingham to Old Trafford?

And as per ESPN (h/t Birmingham Live) there was also a sell-on clause included in his contract during his £25million move to Germany. This would make Birmingham City keen observers of the move as well.

It has not been a good season for the Bundesliga side so far. They are 6th in the table, 16 points away from league leaders Bayern Munich.

Dortmund also sit two places away from the UEFA Champions League spot with just 14 more games left in the season. Missing out on the UCL would undoubtedly be a big blow for the 2013 Champions League finalists.

For Bellingham, playing time does not seem to be a problem. He has already appeared in 26 matches for the German side this season and is a regular fixture in their midfield.
