Rivaldo thinks Manchester United target Sergio Ramos could leave Real Madrid
Speaking to BetFair (h/t Metro), Brazilian legend Rivaldo stated that Sergio Ramos now has time to reflect on his Real Madrid future as he continues to get linked with a transfer to Manchester United.
The 34-year-old is out of contract in the summer but Madrid want him to stay at the club by agreeing on a new cut-price deal. Ramos has apparently rejected two new offers from the club.
This has led the Spaniard to be linked with a move to Old Trafford. United have already shown interest in him in the past, most notably in 2015.
But back then, United felt like they were used by Ramos as a bait. Rivaldo, however, speculates that Ramos might already be planning a future away from Madrid this time around.
“Sergio Ramos will be out of action for at least two months due to knee surgery and that will give him extra time to reflect about his decision of renewing his contract with Real Madrid or leaving at the end of season.”
Ramos or Varane?
The former Barcelona player states that Ramos has the love and affection of the fans at Madrid. However, he says that the Spaniard could be planning for a new adventure that sees him leave the club he joined back in 2005.
“Despite being happy at Madrid, perhaps he is preparing a new adventure somewhere else looking for a new challenge.”
Apart from Ramos, the Red Devils are also linked with signing his teammate Raphael Varane. United’s executive vice-chairman has supposedly admitted in private that the club could spend big on him. (h/t Metro)
