Manchester United winger Amad Diallo hit with hefty fine after allegations of using fake documents
A report by Daily Mail mentions that Manchester United forward Amad Diallo has been slapped with a £42,000 fine by FIGC for ‘falsifying documents and using bogus parents’ to enter Italy.
Diallo was born in Ivory Coast and moved to Italy in 2015 to push forward his footballing career. The false documents in question were used in his move to junior club Boca Barco, and later, Atalanta.
Diallo moved to Europe 6 years ago along with his brother, Hamed, who plays for Serie A side Sassuolo. He too has been hit with the fine, despite the brothers being under 18 years of age during the incident.
The fine comes after Diallo and his brother accepted a plea bargain to avoid a potential ban. The statement by the FIGC listed out the breach of the code of conduct by the two Ivorian footballers.

The investigation looked into an allegation that 5 adults smuggled the two boys into Italy on a fake family visa. Two of those 5 adults falsely claimed to be their parents. (h/t Daily Mail)
The report also states that Amad Diallo Traore might not be the player’s real name. The 18-year-old dropped ‘Traore’ from his name last year, and chose just ‘Amad’ to be printed on the back of his Manchester United shirt.
The Red Devils signed the player in October after agreeing to pay £19million plus £18million in add-ons. The club is yet to comment on Diallo’s situation.
It is, however, believed that United were assured before the move that this case would not impact Diallo’s playing time at Old Trafford. The winger has made quick progress at his new club.
