The one key concern Manchester United have in Sergio Ramos pursuit
According to Spanish publication Bernabeu Digital, Manchester United have reservations regarding their interest in Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos.
The 34-year-old is out of contract in the summer and could be on the move, with Old Trafford a potential destination. United chiefs, however, consider the player’s fitness a red flag.
The veteran defender is currently out with a torn Meniscus and could be ruled out until April. United fear that Ramos may not be able to handle the physical strain to compete in the Premier League.
As things stand, United are not the only suitors with such reservations. French champions PSG have also voiced similar concerns regarding the player.
They both consider the veteran a high-risk signing. Any decision on his future will be made once he returns to the playing field.
There appears to be little doubt regarding Ramos’ footballing ability. One of the best defenders of the era, the 34 -year–old still has a good few years left in him.
Much ado about nothing?
According to the report, the chances of Ramos staying put in Spain is on the rise. Negotiations between the player and Real Madrid regarding a new contract had not gotten anywhere previously.
That is not the case anymore and all parties appear to be inching towards a settlement.
