Man United beaten to the signing of 16-year-old ace by arch-rivals Liverpool

Liverpool beat Manchester United to the signing of Stefan Bajcetic

According to The Athletic (subscription required), Manchester United have been beaten to the signing of 16-year-old youngster Stefan Bajcetic by arch-rivals Liverpool.

A 16-year-old defender, Bajcetic came through the ranks at Spanish La Liga outfit Celta Vigo. The teenager has been on the radars of Liverpool since last year while Manchester United had also been monitoring him for quite some time now.

However, the Red Devils have failed to land the teenager, with Liverpool beating United to his signing. The deal to sign the 16-year-old is set to cost the Merseysiders €250,000.

Manchester United, in recent windows, have focused on youth recruitment a lot. The summer saw the Red Devils sign Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo, with the latter set to arrive at the club this month.

In addition, Manchester United have also brought in some very promising talents such as Alejandro Garnacho, Alvaro Fernandes, Marc Jurado and Joe Hugill among others.

But, their attempts to land Bajcetic have seemingly failed, with Liverpool beating us to his signing.
