Paulo Dybala keen to stay put at Juventus amidst Manchester United interest
Manchester United have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Juventus star Paulo Dybala.
The 27-year-old is going through a rough spell of form in Turin. He has scored just two goals, while failing to register a single assist in 12 games so far this campaign. (h/t Transfermarkt)
This is in pale comparison the numbers he put up last campaign. With his contract set to expire in 2022, he has been touted with a move to a plethora of clubs including Man United. (h/t Express)
Speaking after the 3-1 win over Genoa yesterday, Dybala reaffirmed his love for Juventus. It was on show earlier when he scored his first Serie A goal this campaign. He celebrated it by running across to manager Andrea Pirlo and was clearly delighted with the effort.
He went on to add that the news doing the rounds regarding his contract situation is unreliable.
Interestingly, he revealed that his agent was in Turin for a few weeks. However, Juventus did not reach out to him for negotiations. With his contract expiring in 2022, the Old Lady’s silence could be considered ominous.
From his comments, it would appear that the player is keen to stay on in Turin. Whether Juventus feel the same remains to be seen.
United have tracked the Argentina star for some time now. The 27-year-old attracted eyeballs at Palermo, where he spent three seasons before moving to Turin in 2015. (h/t Express)
Dybala nearly moved to Old Trafford last year, only for Ed Woodward to pull the plug on the potential deal. He was unsure if the player really was keen on joining the club. (h/t Express)
