Manchester United touted to enter the race for Declan Rice
According to the Mirror, Tony Cascariono believes Declan Rice could end up at Manchester United.
The West Ham United star has been a pivotal player for David Moyes’ side this season. He has been instrumental in the Hammers occupying sixth spot in the Premier League table.
They are currently level on the same points as us, albeit having played a game more.
Rice put in yet another impressive performance last weekend against Leeds United. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have caused problems to some of the top clubs in the league but the Hammers made easy work of them.
He not only showed off his passing repertoire but was a defensive rock that Leeds could not find a way around. In fact, his performance was of such maturity that it belied his young age.
It is not every day that an opposition player wins against Bielsa’s industrious players and Cascarino was suitably impressed. (h/t Mirror)
“Declan Rice was superb. He absolutely ran the show in midfield.”
The performance reminded Cascariono of how Rice would be an excellent signing for United. (h/t Mirror)
“He just stunk of a Manchester United signing to me. I was sat there thinking, ‘Wow’.”
With Nemanja Matic not getting any younger, United will need to bring in a defensive midfielder to replace him soon. Rice is a more dynamic player than Fred and Scott McTominay and would be a good fit for our midfield.
He is equally adept at playing in defence which should be an added bonus for United. The Red Devils need a reliable defender and the English international just might be the solution.

Chelsea have been heavily linked to Rice in recent windows. The youngster was on the Blues’ youth rolls before being released in 2014.
He has already confessed that he takes after N’Golo Kante and is also close friends with Chelsea star Mason Mount. Whether United can steal him from under their noses remains to be seen.
