Manchester United to back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the transfer market
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United will back manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the transfer window.
The club are keen to undertake a long-term vision in regards to recruitment. The key focus appears to be centred on summer recruitment as the club hopes to help the manager get us to where we want.
While Solskjaer’s reign continues to divide opinion, he appears to have the backing of Woodward, who he believes is doing a good job.
“We will continue to support Ole with a planned, long-term approach to recruitment, focused on the summer windows.”
While it is heartening to see that the club is keen to back Solskjaer, we can do with more incisiveness in the transfer market.
Willing to back and actually backing him are two different things. While we may have been willing to get the Norwegian Jadon Sancho in the summer, our inability to do so has still left the right-wing spot unaddressed.
Not only did United fail to land the Borussia Dortmund star, but were too transfixed on having their way that we ended up playing the fool. In the end, we were left scampering to conclude deals on deadline day.
It was similar to the Bruno Fernandes saga in January, but we somehow signed the player.
United will do well to have a long-term plan. However, unless we can ensure that the proposed recruitment pitches actually come to fruition, it remains pointless.

Solskjaer has to be clear been backed generously during his two years at the club. The Norwegian has spent close to €300m but has failed to get the best out of them.
Fernandes by far remains his best recruit while Harry Maguire blows hot and cold. The problems at United go deeper than just recruitment and it’s prime the decision-makers address them.
