West Ham United join Manchester United in Moussa Dembele race
According to The Sun, Manchester United will have to contend with competition from West Ham United in the race to sign Olympique Lyon’s French striker Moussa Dembele.
The 24-year-old started at the PSG youth academy before moving to England where he linked up with Fulham. The striker moved to Celtic in 2016, where he broke out as a star in the making, helping the Hoops to consecutive domestic trebles in Scotland.
In 2018, Dembele moved to Olympique Lyon, where he has continued to be a prolific option in front of goal. However, the striker, of late, has lost his spot in the starting XI, leading to speculations over his future at the club. (h/t The Sun)
It is claimed that Lyon are open to selling the striker if a bid of around £30m plus bonuses comes along, piquing the interest of Manchester United and West Ham United. (h/t The Sun)
This is not the first time that Manchester United have been linked with a move for Dembele. And considering Odion Ighalo’s loan spell is nearing an end, and Edinson Cavani’s age, adding a youngster centre-forward wouldn’t be the worst idea.
However, we will have to face competition from former manager David Moyes, who is a huge fan of the Frenchman. (h/t The Sun)
