According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Express), Barcelona have decided to put up five players for sale ahead of the next transfer window, with Manchester United target Ousmane Dembele one among them.

It is no secret that Manchester United were in the search for a right-sided winger all summer.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho was the club’s priority target. But after it became clear that the club wouldn’t be able to sign him, a number of alternatives were identified, Dembele being one among them. (h/t Express)

Manchester United tried to get the Frenchman on a season-long loan deal. However, Barcelona were adamant that an obligation to buy be included, leading to the transfer falling through. (h/t Express)

But with the club’s financial situation quite dire, Barcelona have decided to put up five of their players for sale ahead of the January transfer window, with Dembele also on the list. And, Manchester United could pounce to make the most of the opportunity in the winter window. (h/t Express)

The right-wing remains a problem position for the club. And while Facundo Pellistri and Amad Traore have been signed, both are signings with an eye on the future. So, someone who can make immediate impact is needed.

Dembele, though, is a bit of a risk. The Frenchman’s career has never taken off at Barcelona with injuries hampering him one after the other. However, he has made a positive start to the new season, scoring three goals and assisting one more in eight games in all competitions. (h/t Transfermarkt)
