Ian Wright urges Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to play Axel Tuanzebe regularly
As reported by the Metro, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told to hand more opportunities to youngster Axel Tuanzebe by former Arsenal star Ian Wright.
The 22-year-old Tuanzebe, a product of the Manchester United academy, has endured an injury-riddled year or so at the club. After impressing on loan at Aston Villa, the defender did get some games last season but injuries meant he hasn’t been involved a great deal.
In the current season, Tuanzebe started in the UEFA Champions League clash against PSG last month. The Englishman held his own on the night against the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. In fact, he was named Man of the Match on the night. (h/t Metro)
However, post that, the 22-year-old has made just one appearance, which came from the bench.
“I saw Axel Tuanzebe play against PSG against the best centre forwards in the world alongside Erling Haaland in Kylian Mbappe and Neymar and he played unbelievably.”
Wright, speaking after United’s dismal defeat to Arsenal at the weekend, has called on Solskjaer to play Tuanzebe as it would allow him to field a more attacking lineup. (h/t Metro)
“The way he played I think he deserves a spot in the team. You can maybe put Tuanzebe in and then Donny van de Beek or more offensive players in there.”

It is a bit confounding as to why Tuanzebe hasn’t been used since that brilliant display against PSG. Hopefully, he will start against Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday in the Champions League.
