Erling Haaland prefers moving to Real Madrid despite interest from Manchester United
Norwegian striker Erling Haaland prefers going to Real Madrid over Manchester United, according to ABC (h/t Sun).
The 20-year-old currently plies his trade for Borussia Dortmund and has four goals and two assists in the Bundesliga this season.
Haaland has been exceptional since joining the Bundesliga side and also has six goals for Norway in their Nations League campaign.
The Norwegian was playing for RB Salzburg before moving to Dortmund last season. He bagged 44 goals in all competitions for the two sides, and is improving with each game under his belt.
The report claims that Haaland is keen on teaming up with fellow Norwegian Martin Odegaard at Madrid.
Haaland has a release clause of £65million in his contract and that will be activated in 2022 (h/t Sun).
Second blow for United
United are still interested in the 20-year-old despite failing to land him the last time around (h/t Sun).
The Red Devils couldn’t nab him in January as he joined Dortmund from Salzburg.
United also face competition from Chelsea in the race to sign Haaland’s signature (h/t Sun). However, the report adds that Real are interested in partnering Haaland alongside another sensation in Kylian Mbappe.
That would be some strike force and the pair would be a handful for any defence in the world. Losing out on Haaland would be a blow for any side but we do have some talented forwards in the current squad.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are two of the best in the Premier League. We also have rising star Mason Greenwood, who should improve with more experience under his belt.
