Edinson Cavani vows to guide Manchester United young guns

Speaking to the club’s official website (h/t The Express), new Manchester United signing Edinson Cavani has vowed to mentor the youngsters at the club.

The Uruguayan at 33 arrives at United as one of Europe’s most celebrated strikers over the past decade. Having played for Napoli and PSG during this time, he has scored an incredible 304 goals.

He will hopefully add many more to that tally as he is set to compete with Anthony Martial for the starting position up front.

Apart from Martial, the United frontline also consists of English duo Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.

The youngsters are supremely talented and now in Cavani, we have an experienced head to learn from. The Uruguayan striker also intends to do just that.

“I’m here to offer a little bit of my experience to the squad, to the manager, and I’m ready and willing to do the very best I can, and to give the best that I can give.”

He remains keen to make use of his experience to help our his new teammates.

“So that’s kind of my aim as I arrive here, very keen to make myself available to my team-mates.”

Cavani admitted that he spoke to former United stars Angel di Maria and Ander Herrera before moving to Old Trafford. He enjoyed a good relationship with the latter and joined United immediately after talking to him.

Hopefully, the 33-year-old will end that jinx while also paving the way for our youngsters to reach their full potential.
