In fact, the club even made a deadline day offer of a season-long loan with the option to buy for £25m. However, their offer was rejected by Watford, who would only consider a permanent transfer. (h/t MEN)

While the transfer window has officially closed, clubs in the Premier League can still sign players from the EFL clubs until October 16. So there is still a chance that United could make a move for Sarr. (h/t Birmingham Live)

However, as per the report, the Red Devils will not make any such move now.

The main reason behind the decision is the fact that United had to register their squad for the UEFA Champions League by Tuesday. And signing Sarr now would mean he would be ineligible to represent the club in Europe. (h/t Birmingham Live)

United did add two wide players in the form of Amad Traore and Facundo Pellistri on the transfer deadline day. And although the former will arrive in January, it is claimed that the club is currently content with the options in the attack. (h/t MEN)

Shelling out a lot of money and paying Sarr’s wages even though he wouldn’t be able to represent the club in Europe would be imprudent at this point.
