Manchester United ready to end Jadon Sancho transfer saga with £80million bid

According to The Express, Manchester United are ready to bid £80million in full to sign Jadon Sancho this summer.

The Borussia Dortmund star was the club’s top priority going into the window. However, negotiations with Dortmund got nowhere due to their exorbitant asking price.

With just three weeks to go before the market closes, United are ready to end the saga. As yet, an agreement seems a long way off.

The Red Devils had failed on two previous occasions to land the Englishman. The first attempt came in 2017 when he was still at Manchester City.

Another effort was made last summer. However, our inability to provide him with Champions League football proved to be a deal-breaker.

That is sorted now given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led us to an impressive third-placed finish last season. Despite being in a better position now, the club has been unable to reach a consensus with Dortmund.

The Germans for their part look set to stick to their asking price. They are under no pressure to sell and this despite having brought in Jude Bellingham and Erling Braut Haaland this year.

United have also prepared a list of alternatives to Sancho. They can now strike the name of Gareth Bale off that list, with the player preferring to move to Tottenham Hotspur.

More Manchester United News

Time is running out for United to make a splash in the market. The likes of Chelsea and Tottenham have strengthened, while we have only brought in Donny van de Beek.

The lack of strength in depth has hardly been addressed. A quiet window could see a lot of good work one last season come to nought.
