Huddersfield Town are interested in Manchester United starlets Di’Shon Bernard and James Garner
According to Yorkshire Live, Huddersfield Town are interested in signing Manchester United starlets Di’Shon Bernard and James Garner on loan.
The Terriers enjoyed a difficult season last time around following their relegation from the Premier League in 2019. Their downward spiral continued as they finished just three points off relegation in the Championship last year.
Now managed by Carlos Corberan, the Terriers are keen to rebuild their aide and have identified the United youngsters amongst their prospective targets. (h/t Yorkshire Live)
Of the two, Garner is the name most fans would be more acquainted with given his appearances for the first team. The 19-year-old is held in high regard and has often impressed for the club’s Under-23 side.
The midfielder has made seven appearances for United with the majority of them coming in the Europa League. Much is expected of the youngster who could now gain more playing time if he goes out on loan.
Huddersfield will, however, have to compete with fellow Championship side Coventry City for his signature. (h/t Coventry Live)
Bernard, on the other hand, is yet to play a prominent role in the first-team unlike Garner. He has made just one appearance for United against FC Astana in the Europa League.
It, however, proved to be a night to forget as Untied lost 2-1 with Bernard scoring an own goal. His performances for the Under-23 side has been impressive and a loan spell could very well aid his development.
A defender by trade, he joined the club in 2017 from Chelsea. Whether he can make a mark at United remains to be seen.

This will not be the first time that United and Huddersfield will have made a loan deal. Goalkeeper Joel Pereira has joined the Terriers on loan for the 2020/21 term. (h/t BBC)
