Manchester United offered Sergio Reguilon by Real Madrid
According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have been offered a chance to sign Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon.
Reguilon came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and made his breakthrough in the 2018/19 campaign. However, he lost his place in the side following the return of Zinedine Zidane as manager.
Following the arrival of Ferland Mendy last summer, the Spaniard was loaned out to La Liga rivals Sevilla. And Reguilon thrived at the club, finishing the 2019/20 campaign with the honour of being named the best left-back in La Liga.
Reguilon also played a huge role in Sevilla’s UEFA Europa League triumph, including an assist against us in the semi-finals. He ended the campaign with three goals and five assists in 38 appearances across all competitions. (h/t Transfermarkt)
In spite of this, his situation at Real Madrid has not changed. And as per Romano, the left-back has now been offered to Manchester United.
The Red Devils have two talented English left-backs in the form of Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams. However, the former continues to be plagued with injury problems, while the latter lacks the experience at the top level.
So, signing someone of Reguilon’s ability would be quite a shrewd move by the club.
A report from The Sun claims that Manchester United have already made a bid of £27m for Reguilon. However, Real Madrid are willing to only loan him out.
