According to the Daily Star, Manchester United are eyeing two left-backs this summer.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to reinforce his defensive options. The club has a number of options under consideration and will look to make a move with just a month to go before the window closes.

With Chelsea signing Ben Chilwell, the Red Devils have one less opponent to worry about in their pursuit of Sergio Reguilon.

The Spaniard is someone United will be familiar with, having faced him in the Europa League semifinal last season. The Spaniard was a dominating force on the left and caused Aaron Wan-Bissaka countless problems.

Originally a Real Madrid player, Reguilon was on a season-long loan at Sevilla. His performances saw him get named as the Spanish top-flight’s best left-back last season.

United will have to fend off interest from Juventus, Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur for the 22-year-old. According to Spanish publication AS (h/t Daily Star) Reguilon is tempted to move to Old Trafford as he has been promised a starting role at the club.

According to Transfer Window Podcast reporter Duncan Castles, the other player on United’s radar is Monaco full-back Fode Ballo-Toure. The Frenchman’s current deal at the French giants runs until 2023.

According to the report, the 23-year-old will be brought in as an understudy to Luke Shaw. Doing so will see Brandon Williams shift to the other flank as Wan-Bissaka’s backup.

Castles revealed that United are now reallocating the cash that was meant to bring in Jadon Sancho.

Both Shaw and Williams have been decent for United all season. While the former’s injury record is a concern, the latter’s inexperience has seen him struggle at times.

Williams struggled towards the end of last season and was a glaring weak link in our backline. He has however shown promise and should thrive if given the time to develop.
