Harry Maguire given an extended break from Manchester United training
According to The Sun, Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire has been given an extended break from training.
The 27-year-old found himself on the wrong side of the law when on holiday in Greece. Although initially convicted, he has since filed an appeal and now faces a lengthy court battle. (h/t The Sun)
Maguire was set to meet up with his England teammates this weekend. However, his name was withdrawn from the national team squad following his ordeal.
United players are set to return to training on Wednesday. Maguire will not join them until the weekend. Hopefully, this extended break will help him recover from the troublesome ordeal. (h/t The Sun)
The United skipper spoke for the first time since the incident earlier this week. He conveyed his gratitude to both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Gareth Southgate for their support.
United for their part have decided to retain Maguire as the skipper going into the 2020/21 season. Meanwhile, he is also expected to return to the England squad in October. (h/t Mirror)

Maguire is not the only United star to miss training from Wednesday. He is joined on the sidelines by Paul Pogba and Aaron-Wan Bissaka, both key first-teamers.
The Frenchman is in self-isolation after testing positive for the coronavirus. The right-back, however, is in quarantine for 14 days after going on holiday to Dubai. Nemanja Matic is also currently in quarantine.
United play their first game of the season on 19 September against Crystal Palace.
