Manchester United are interested in Sergio Reguilon
According to Spanish publication Marca (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United are interested in Sergio Reguilon.
The Spaniard is an excellent player who has seen his reputation grow leaps and bounds while on loan at Sevilla last season. His performances even saw him get named as the Spanish top-flight’s best left-back.
United will be familiar with his exploits, having come up against Sevilla in the Europa League semifinals. It is fair to say he caused Aaron Wan-Bissaka a number of problems that night.
Reguilon provided the cross for Suso to equalize after Bruno Fernandes had given us the lead. Sevilla ultimately went on to win the trophy.
The 23-year-old was a target for Chelsea as they looked to address their left-back issues. With them signing Ben Chilwell, United could steal a march in pursuit of Reguilon.
Having come through the Real Madrid youth system, Reguilon has struggled to break into the first-team. Despite his impressive performances last season, a return to the Santiago Bernabeu is bound to do him little good.
With the likes of Marcelo and Ferland Mendy ahead of him in the pecking order, Reguilon would be at best third-choice under Zinedine Zidane.
According to the report, Real are not averse to selling him. Valued at £18m, he is a bang for the buck. The club will, however, face competition from the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, and Tottenham Hotspur.

Although Luke Shaw has improved in recent months, his injury record is a matter of concern. His understudy Brandon Williams has shown numerous times that he is not yet ready to start at the top level for United.
Bringing in a player such as Reguilon would add more quality while also giving us strength in depth. With Champions League football back on the table, it is imperative that we have a dependable squad of players to count on.
