Harry Maguire lawyer confident that his client will be released on Saturday
According to the Mirror, the lawyer of Manchester United star Harry Maguire is confident that his client will be released today.
The United skipper was arrested on Friday on accusations of attacking law enforcement officials on the Greek island of Mykonos.
Maguire, who is the world’s most expensive defender, was holidaying on the island after what was a gruelling season at Old Trafford. He was among the three men held for the incident and spent the night in jail.
To add to it, one of the three was alleged to have attempted to bribe officials. This was done in order to avoid a trial. As per the article, it is not clear if the particular allegation is against Maguire.
The United star’s lawyer, Constantine Darivas has confirmed that Maguire is in great condition and that the process is ongoing.
He went on to add that Maguire has denied all charges levied against him. The defender also fully expects to be set free.
United too acknowledged the incident in an official statement yesterday. The club confirmed that they are aware of the incident and have been in contact with the player.
The Red Devils also confirmed that Maguire is fully co-operating with the Greek officials. United have not made any further comment on the matter.
Maguire joined Untied from Leicester City last summer. He has gone on to improve our backline in what was a promising season for the club. Here is hoping that his lawyer too is defensively adept as our number five.

Being involved in such incidents is unbecoming of a United player, especially the skipper. The sooner the matter is resolved, the sooner we can move on and focus on his performances on the pitch.
Whether any action will be taken by the club or not remains to be seen. United kick off their 2020/21 campaign against Crystal Palace on 19 September.
