An intimate look at the Manchester United 2020/21 Premier League campaign

As confirmed by the Premier League, Manchester United will begin their 2020/21 Premier League campaign on September 19.

This is a whole week after the season officially kicks off on 12th September. The delay in our case is owing to the club’s participation in the Europa League.

Our first match will see us turn up at home against Crystal Palace. This is followed by a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on the 26th of September.

United’s first major clash will take place at home on 3rd October. Former boss Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham Hotspur side will be the visitors to the Theatre of Dreams.

The Red Devils play their last home game against newly-promoted Fulham on 15th May. We end our season with a trip to the Molineux to play Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 23rd.

The Manchester derby

The season’s first Manchester derby in the league will be held on December 12 at Old Trafford. The return fixture will be played at the Etihad on 6th March.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side completed a double over their City rivals last season. Hopefully, we can do the same this time around and remind Pep Guardiola that Manchester is red.

The biggest game in English football

Speaking of red, United face off against reigning Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield on 16th January. The return fixture will be played at Old Trafford on 1st May.

With the Merseysiders closing the gap on our league title count, we have to get our act together.

Solskjaer is yet to beat Jurgen Klopp since taking over as United boss. Hopefully, he will buck the trend this season and show Liverpool who the predominant team in Red is.

Facing the Gunners

United face off against a Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Old Trafford on 31st October. We then travel to the Emirates on 30th January for the reverse fixture.

An old enemy returns

Manchester United will come face to face against an old enemy in Leeds United. The Yorkshire outfit returned to the top-flight after a period of 16 years.

Led by the impressive Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds are a formidable outfit we must be wary of. United face them on 19th December at Old Trafford in a match sure to be filled with festive cheer.

The Red Devils travel to the Elland Road on April 24 for the return fixture.

The festive season

The month of December is a make or break time owing to the busy schedule faced by the English clubs. United endure a tricky but doable set of matches this time around.

We start the month off by facing West Ham United away on December 5. It is followed by the Manchester derby (home) on the 12th before facing Sheffield United three days later on the 15th at Bramall Lane.

United then face Leeds on the 19th at home before travelling to face Leicester City on Boxing Day. The festivities continue when we face Wolves on the 28th and Aston Villa on 2nd January. Both games are at home.
