Borussia Dortmund ready to accept Manchester United offer for Jadon Sancho
According to the Independent, Manchester United have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
This comes following the Germans’ readiness to accept United’s initial offer for the 20-year-old sensation. Talks regarding the deal have taken place between intermediaries whereas formal negotiations between the clubs are yet to begin. (h/t Independent)
According to the report, United will pay Dortmund an initial fee of £60m. The complete package eventually rises to over £100m.
Ironically it appears to be the Germans who are currently pushing for the deal to be completed. They are ready for Sancho’s departure and want their 2020-21 roster intact by the time the squad returns to training on 10 August. (h/t Independent)
Although one of the best talents in the world, United face no competition for the player at this point in time. Liverpool and Real Madrid have been long term admirers of the 20-year-old. They have however ruled out any big money buys this summer. (h/t Independent)
Sancho is all set to be United’s marquee signing of the summer. The club still needs to bring in a centre-forward, a midfielder and a centre-half. These will, however, depend on the budget.
Bringing in Sancho will be a coup for United. Despite ensuring a top-four finish, we are still some way away from challenging at the top of the table. Adding Sancho to the mix will massively strengthen us, at least in terms of offense.
The youngster has been a revelation since his move to Dortmund. He has gone from strength to strength and is today a prolific attacker.
United’s front three of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, and Anthony Martial have formed a fearsome trio that plunders in the goals. Adding Sancho that mix will be akin to bringing a gun to a knife fight.
