Manchester United set to reward Mason Greenwood with a new contract
According to a report from The Sun, Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood is set for a new contract just nine months after signing an extension, thereby receiving a massive increase in wages.
Greenwood had been handed a new contract by the club, which saw his wages bump up to £25,000-a-week. But after what has been a spectacular breakthrough campaign, the teenage sensation will receive a hefty pay rise as a reward. (h/t The Sun)
It goes without saying that this has been a special season for the young Greenwood. The 18-year-old has found the back of the net on 16 occasions across all competitions. He has also set up five goals for his teammates.
Greenwood has scored four goals in United’s last six matches as part of a 19-match unbeaten run. He is only one goal shy of the record for most goals by a teenager in a single season for the club. George Best, Brian Kidd and Wayne Rooney all scored 17 times in a single campaign.
The academy graduate has formed an excellent partnership with fellow attacking partners Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, becoming the first-choice pick on the right wing ahead of Daniel James.
And the youngster is now set to be rewarded for his exploits with a new deal. As per the report, the new contract would see his wages go from £25,000-a-week to £40,000-a-week.

Considering that he was making just £800-per-week only a year ago, it goes on to show how rapidly he has progressed in a short time.
Goes without saying that the new contract is very well-deserved.
