Bruno Fernandes given new nickname following Brighton win
According to MEN, Manchester United new boy Bruno Fernandes has been nicknamed the ‘milkman’ by the fans.
This comes after cameras saw him sipping from a big bottle of milk during the win against Brighton and Hove Albion.
The midfielder’s preference was also noticed by former United star Gary Neville. The Sky Sports presenter went on to add that it was a throwback to the 1970s.
“That looks like one of those bottles of milk you got at school in the 1970s.”
Considering that we won only an FA Cup in the 70s, we clearly hope that’s where the similarities end.
The Portuguese superstar has been a revelation since his move to Old Trafford. He has scored 6 goals and 4 assists in 13 games, including a brace against Brighton. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Not only has he been a creative force de force by himself but has also lifted those around him. The likes of Paul Pogba look reinvigorated playing alongside Fernandes and has stepped up his game since returning from injury.
The 25-year-old touched upon the matter post-match. He was keen to play down the impact he personally had and strove to ensure the whole team got their due.
“I don’t want to talk too much about me and Paul because it’s not fair on the other teammates.”
Not only is the Portuguese a match-winner but has also won our hearts with his humility. A true role model to look up to.
