Twitter reacts as Mason Greenwood sends tribute to Angel Gomes
According to MEN, Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood celebrated his goal against Brighton by sending a message to Angel Gomes.
Greenwood opened the scoring on the night that turned out to be Gomes’ last at the club. The 18-year-old celebrated by making the letter ‘A’ with his two hands, a tribute to his fellow academy graduate.
Gomes is one of United’s best young talents. He became one of the 10 players to leave the club as free agents. Ole Gunnar Solskajer would have liked to keep the youngster, but the attempts at getting him to sign went nowhere.
Having come through the academy, Gomes made his first-team bow in 2017. He has since amassed 10 appearances, six of which came this season.
Chelsea are one of the sides interested in signing the youngster. However, that looks to be in doubt given Frank Lampard’s comments on the matter.
Gomes, to his credit, took to Instagram to thank Greenwood for his gesture. It is unsure where the youngster’s future lies. Greenwood, on the other hand, looks set to become a star at the club. (h/t MEN)
A number of fans took to Twitter to respond to Greendood’s gesture. We take a look at a few of them below.
