Transfer News: Man United make contact with 23-year-old attacking starlet

Manchester United keen on former Chelsea midfielder Jeremie Boga

According to ESPN FC, Manchester United are interested in former Chelsea midfielder Jeremie Boga.

He is seen as an alternative to Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho. The Englishman remains the club’s top priority but his massive £100m asking price remains an obstacle. (h/t ESPN FC)

Capable of playing anywhere in attack or midfield, the Ivory Coast international has made 27 appearances for Italian side Sassuolo this season. He has scored an impressive return of eight goals and four assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Boga was held in high regard at Chelsea where he spent nine years, three of which he spent on loan at other clubs. He would go on to make just a solitary appearance for the Blues.

The 23-year-old is keen to play in Europe and will welcome a change of scenery this summer. He is open to a move to Old Trafford with United also approaching him regarding a move. (h/t ESPN FC)

Sassuolo ate currently in 12th spot in the Serie A. The chances of them making Europe next season is quite remote.

Boga was capped by the French youth sides at various levels. He however chose to change his allegiance to the Ivory Coast at the senior level. He has so far made one appearance for the country.

A signing of Sancho’s stature would elevate us to a higher level. The Dortmund star is a true game-changer who will be a match-winner for us.

Boga would be a good addition but we could rather the club wait for the right moment and get Sancho.
