“I’ll come with you”- Fans react as legendary Man United duo decide to stay off social media after Liverpool triumph

Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville to stay off social media following Liverpool triumph

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United legends, Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville have joked that they will be signing out of social media following Liverpool’s English Premier League triumph.

We wouldn’t put it past the lot to actually mean it after our arch-rivals won the league after 30 years – and in quite some style.

Just like the majority of us fans, the Merseysiders’ success will be a bitter pill for the former United stars to swallow.

More so for Neville following his coverage on Sky Sports alongside Jamie Carragher. The former United skipper has constantly poked fun at the expense of our rivals.

He went so far as to say that United will win the title before Liverpool. Clearly that statement has not aged well.

Neville merely posted a waving emoticon on Twitter and has not tweeted since. We can clearly understand his sentiments.

In time, this too shall pass and United will be back where they belong -on the perch. Until then at the very least, the duo can take heart that neither of them is Noel Gallagher.

The Manchester City fan clearly tempted fate with his obnoxious statements prior to the Premier League season. Clearly humble pie is on order at the Gallagher mansion.

We take a look at how fans reacted to Ferdinand and Neville’s Twitter antics below.
