Manchester United still have a shot at signing Jude Bellingham
According to the Express, Manchester United still retain hope of signing Birmingham City wonderkid Jude Bellingham.
It was claimed earlier this week that the youngster had snubbed interest from United to sign for Borussia Dortmund. However, Birmingham boss Pep Clotet believes the midfielder is yet to make a decision over his future (h/t Express).
Bellingham can sign a professional contract once he turns 17 next Monday. He is expected to still leave the club this summer. (h/t Express)
According to the report, it looks unlikely that Dortmund will announce the signing in the coming days.
Clotet confirmed in his presser that Bellingham has not informed him of the decision to leave. His comments appear to suggest that the teenager is yet to make up his mind- something that augurs well for us.
“He has not indicated to me that he has made a decision.”
The Red Devils are extremely keen on signing the youngster. He was hence subjected to a major charm offensive by the club that saw him visit Carrington and also interact with Sir Alex Ferguson. (h/t Express)
Making his debut aged 16 years and 38 days, Bellingham became the youngest player in Birmingham City’s history. A versatile player, the youngster is capable of playing anywhere in the midfield.
Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Bellingham has not slacked off in training. In fact, his professionalism has been excellent as he aims to give his best to Birmingham as the season draws to a close. (h/t Express)
“I have a feeling every day I am working with him and I see he is as focused as ever.”
