The midfielder is the youngest player to play for Rennes in the club’s history. He made his debut at the age of 16 and has since made rapid progress. This has attracted attention from across Europe, with Real Madrid amongst them.

According to the report, United are in the running for Camavinga’s signature. They have made more than a dozen checks on the midfielder in the last 12 months.

As reported by the Express, United feel they’re leading the race. This is because they’re prepared to let Camavinga return to Rennes on loan.

The same has been planned for Jude Bellingham, the 16-year-old Birmingham wonderkid. United feel Camavinga has the potential to develop into a box-to-box midfielder in the future should he choose Old Trafford.

Considered one of the best young players in the world, the 17-year-old has been likened to former Argentine star Fernando Redondo in his prime.

Camavinga has been at the club since the age of 11 and is the youngest player to win the French Ligue 1 Player of the Month award. (h/t Metro)

Meanwhile, Rennes boss Julien Stephan believes that staying in Ligue 1 would be best for Camavinga’s development. He believes it would do him good to stay at least one more year at the club.

With United ready to send him back on loan, Stephan could get what he wants.
